Nothing in the freezer and nothing in the fridge. French toast it is then! My kids never say no to French toast. Bonus for me is that I walked in the door at 5:05 and we were to finished eating with the kitchen cleaned by 5:40.
Two eggs, approximately 1/2 cups of milk, 2 tlbs vanilla extract and 1 tsp. of cinnamon. Whisk together well with a fork while the skillet heats. I could cook four at a time, enough for each kid. This amount of French toast batter cooked eight slices of bread.
I sprinkled each side with cinnamon and sugar during the cooking. When the French toast is topped with a bit of butter and real maple syrup I believe we covered all the necessary food groups for kids. Protein, carbohydrates, butter and sugar.
