I am a driver, I like to set the cruise control, crank up my music and go. My usual sustenance is liter bottles of water, large black coffees and small bags of nuts or whole fruits from the gas stations. I try hard to be utilitarian in my stops; gas, restroom and refreshments. No stopping until the next need for fuel, please.
Dear Chris thought a nice lunch was in order. Perhaps it was the sunshine or perhaps it was the company, I agreed to a proper lunch at a sit down restaurant complete with a waitress. Dowd's Catfish & BBQ in Lebanon Missouri was our Buy Local choice.
We both enjoyed the house made chopped coleslaw, creamy with mayo yet tart with vinegar. H.C. declined dessert so I did too. It was great to stop for a real meal while on a road trip, to be able to sit across from each other and and look into each other's eyes while conversing.
