One tart green apple, diced. One tablespoon butter, one tablespoon each brown sugar and pure maple syrup. One teaspoon cinnamon. That's it. This recipe makes enough to generously top two pancakes.

My youngest has not come over from the dark side, she still likes traditional pancake syrup, full of artificial flavors and high fructose corn syrup. We have tried to introduce her to the joys of all natural, 100% pure maple syrup. But to no avail.
