Recipe testers are necessary because what makes sense to the writer will often not make sense to the reader who is trying to cook from the recipe. I once read a helpful tip which stated ... write as if the reader has never cooked before.
I keep that tip in mind for clarity in my own recipe writing, but I also assume a modicum of kitchen skills on the part of the reader.
Next, a schmear of organic apple butter. Not my homemade, we are out and have not gone to an orchard this fall. But a very good store bought, small batch version, well spiced with cinnamon and cloves.
All in all, a lovely supper.
