The steaks ended up with a succulent butter/Worcestershire sear on each side. I love my beef smothered in crumbled blue cheese. The Thai jasmine rice mixed with minced carrots, broccoli and garlic pan fried a bit too much in the oil, resulting in a very crunchy texture. It was similar in texture to the crust on the bottom of the rice pot that is coveted by Persians. I stirred in one cup of shredded parmesan cheese and one teaspoon of dark sesame oil to the rice, just before serving. H.C. asked for seconds on the rice, either because he really liked it or because he was overly curious about the texture and flavor combination.
Post supper was an irreverent game of monopoly. I love having all my favorite people under the same roof.
A very, very happy Thursday.
