We started with the house made guacamole, two types of salsa (cucumber and chipolte) and fresh chips. The cucumber salsa had zero spice, great for the kids. The chipolte was, well, chipolte. It was spicy! The surprise was that the guacamole, what I usually consider to be a cooling counterpart to spicy food, was just as spicy as the chipolte salsa. It was delicious, just be prepared for the peppery kick.
My biggest pet peeve, and this may be because I was a front of house manager for too many years, was that our dirty plates were left on our table after we were done, after she dropped the check, even after she took my card to run it through for payment. Even after she brought back the card slip for me to sign, SHE STILL LEFT THE BLOODY DIRTY DISHES!
My goodness, waitressing 101; clear the table! I am a crazy good tipper (30%+) and having to sit with dirty dishes seriously affected her tip.
Can I recommend Lucha Cantina? Do you like locally owned restaurant with most of the menu is made in house and from scratch? Then have a meal at Lucha.
