Using great tools, tools that function properly, last indefinitely, and clean easily, makes cooking on a daily basis a joy.
This 6 quart Dutch oven by Creuest was expensive, about $275. It is heavy enameled cast iron with a well fitting lid. The surface is virtually non-stick without the weird chemicals of a Teflon pan. The cast iron creates an evenly heated surface which browns, fries and sautées to perfection. It also retains heat, keeping supper warm when lidded and off burner.
This is my go to cooking tool/vessel for the continual evening creations in our home. After washing (mild soap and a dish cloth- no scrubbing to scratch the enamel) this pan goes back on the stovetop waiting for the next evening.
