Eggsclusive Cafe is very easy to find, in a strip mall across the street from the new Jewel grocery store as you are heading north into Sycamore IL.
I love eggs. I love the 1001 ways that Eggsclusive Cafe prepares eggs. With a side of pancakes or toast. Fruit or home fries. Their portions are H.U.G.E. Seriously crazy huge. While they are a little pricier, there value-added portions and friendly service make this a consistently pleasurable dining experience.
There was a wonderfully thick slab of cheddar cheese and a side of garlic mayo. But cooked to medium?
No, this burger is definitely well done. And thin. And unseasoned.
The bun, as you can clearly see, is thicker than the meat! Oh, not a good sign. The bun did hold up to the patty, but with no juciness, it was unnecessary and was discarded after two bites.
It was a passable meal. Just O.K. But for $7.75 the flavor was not worth the price.
The fries were crispy, coated with something that suggested hyper-processed food, and well seasoned. A very large portion of fries, enough for three people.
While I would give the burger a 2 star out of 5 rating, the Eggsclusive Cafe is a 4 star out of 5 dining experience. I have eaten here perhaps ten times now, and I have never been disappointed.
I continue to tick my way through the list of locally owned establishments that serve burgers. Although to give myself a culinary break, I may begin a Monday Gorge On Veggies day!
