You know that as a good mother in 2014 I do indeed feed my children a meal each and every evening. Their eternal question is not "Do You Love Me?" rather "What Is For Dinner?"
So I will strive to post our What's for Dinner. 365 Dinners to be exact.
I do know how to cook, very well in fact. I have worked as an executive chef at a country club, as a professional baker, and as an (ex) wife and mother keeping people well fed for a very long time. Be forewarned that some of my 365 posts will include good meals out in restaurants, bad meals passed through my car window in a paper sack, bowls of cereal, even jerky and fresh fruit consumed in the car on our way from point A to point B. I ask that you not judge me too harshly on my meal selections. Just perhaps find some inspiration and occasionally the motivation to keep those meals coming. Day after day and night after night.
The children's hunger was quickly satiated. The bird was picked clean of the remaining meat which will reincarnate later this week as chicken tacos. Being raised by my mother, a product of the Great Depression, has taught me to waste not want not.
Dinner #1 is complete, leftovers in the fridge and dishes in the washer.
Happy 2014 Everyone!
