Wow! It has been a month since I have written a single story about food. About life. About anything! You'all know that my family and I have not gone a month without eating.
Some days I cooked. Some days were healthy. Some days we had bowls of cereal for dinner or ice cream cones after a day at the beach. Sometimes vegetarian and sometimes only Grandma's BBQ brisket- plates of delicious meaty goodness. Sometimes, and it kills me to admit this, dinner consists of bags of fast food through the car window as we moved through the jam packed past month.
This past month has included a singular life altering event, a move for my household, lots of draining summer heat, new friends, renewal of old friendships, dinner parties, libations on the deck, writing, music, badminton, bubbles and fire flys.
And of course, food. Pictures were taken and notes were written. Food writing will resume. In the meantime, hug your kids, kiss your partner, drink an Arnold Palmer and eat something grilled.
PS: Are you wondering who the heck is the guy with the accordion? A vendor at the Jefferson County Flea Market. He played all morning long. It was beautiful music and made for a joyful day.
