My Mom is a celiac, which means no gluten. Not as a fad, but gluten was killing her. When we go out, she gets to choose the restaurant, she knows where she can and cannot eat. Tonight we ate at Applebee's.
I was so very hungry that I was almost done with my meal before remembering to photograph it. Applebee's will provide a binder with allergy information, so no matter your particular intolerances, they can serve you a lovely meal. In addition to the allergy guide, certain items on the menu are marked with a Weight Watcher's symbol. While I don't follow the WW diet plan, it is nice to see listed the calories in a specific dinner selection.
I chose the steak romanesco. When served, the staff asked me to cut into the steak to see if it was cooked to my liking. That is a great thing! You can also see the large bits of minced garlic in a red wine vinegar sauce with some chopped plum tomatoes and red onion. My daughter ate half my steak.
All around, a good dinner with family.
