This is not a traditional ragu, this is what I happened to have in hand to put in the crock pot at 6:30 in the morning. While I stand in the kitchen waiting for my coffee to brew, I put together a crock pot meal.
This morning I used one 14oz can of crushed tomatoes, one pound of thin utility cut rib eye steaks, some herbs (oregano, thyme, salt and pepper). I gave it a healthy stir to incorporate everything, set the crock pot to low and that's it.
My crock pot cooks for ten hours; 6:30am until I get home at 5. I knew that by supper time the steaks would be well cooked, tender and shredded with two forks.
Cook some vegetables or shred a salad while the pasta cooks and you have an excellent supper.
