Here is the recipe I used for the bread. There was none left this morning, but it was not stellar enough to become part of my regular baking line up.

RECIPE! I was web searching for a breakfast type food to make for supper when I stumbled across this recipe for English Muffin Bread. I then googled and found several more recipes which I compared to this one for balance of ingredients and amounts of baking soda. This is a yeast bread made with milk. The short rise time made this loaf denser than a typical yeast bread.
The is the bread, fresh and hot out of the oven. I sprinkled corn meal on the bottom of the pan then again on the top of the loaf to mimic a purchase English muffin. The taste was similar to an English muffin, the bread was very dense with little crumb.
Strawberry-rhubarb jam makes everything taste wonderful. Between myself with two slices, the youngest with one slice and the crew of 6 teenage boys/men the loaf of bread was devoured. The men loved it and I liked that it was homemade with few ingredients and no unpronouncable chemicals.
