The first step is admitting that I have a problem. I love my coffee. I love it hot in the summertime. I love it black or light or sweet or short or tall. I just love coffee.
I love coffee so much that I start a fresh pot in the morning before feeding the kids or attending to the pets. I really must get that coffee started. I love the smell, I love the process, I love the taste, I love the shared community of drinking with fellow coffee lovers.
I know I need my three cups of coffee every morning. My family knows this. Other caffeine vehicles are not a suitable substitute for the cup of hot java I need every morning. Yes, I realize that it may be part caffeine addiction and part Pavlovian response. But try to tell my pregnant self that each time I quit coffee cold turkey and suffer through a two week migraine and withdrawal symptoms. I need my coffee.
