But alas, the lure of the sand and the surf drew us in to it's web, and three very wet hours later, we were in no shape to eat in a proper restaurant, even if it is a beach shack serving burgers.
So, Skinny's will have to wait until my next trip south. This Thursday burger challenge brought me home to the wonderful, iconic, in operation and locally owned since 1967 -Beef A Roo, a Rockford Illinois fast food chain.
For $2.99, this was a decent fast food burger. Soft bun, and the condiments (lettuce, mayo, ketchup, pickles, onion) lend it a Whopper flavor. Not my usual pick when I eat at Beef A Roo, I am partial to the veggie deluxe - in a wrap please! But for a quick drive through meal, it was fine.
On the five star scale - I would grant it a 2.5 - exactly and acceptably in the middle of the burger spectrum.
