I have kids, so this is a great family restaurant. Plenty of parking, quick service, and clean. Usually I am a skillet girl. Potatoes, meat, veggies topped with eggs cooked to order. My kids are the sweet and starchy eaters; french toast or pancakes all topped with warm syrup from their own personal pitcher. Including bottomless cups of coffee or glasses of soda, every is satisfied. Given my personal inclination to only eat breakfast at Johnny Pamcakes, this was simply another local restaurant to check off the Thursday Challenge. As I posted on Facebook this morning "I love being pleasantly surprised!"
The fries were crispy, thick 'steak' cuts. A decent serving to compliment the meal. The waitress did offer lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles, which I declined.
The meal, including iced tea, was $8.83 before tip. Not the most expensive of our Thursday Burger Challenge meals, but about average for dining out in Rockford. I would recommend Johnny Pamcakes overall as a locally owned Rockford family restaurant.
