My recipe for Honey Mustard BBQ:
1/2 onion - minced
1 tlbs. butter
1/4 cup vinegar (apple cider or red wine are best)
1/4 cup honey
1 tlbs. molasses or pure maple syrup
1/2 prepared plain yellow mustard
1/2 tsp liquid smoke
1/4 tsp. pure red pepper.
Sauté the onion in the butter until soft. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well. Cook to reduce to a thick and caramelized BBQ sauce. You can cook your meat directly in the sauce or use the sauce as a wet mop on the grill.
